About Us
The Story of MIRO Computer
Rental Inc.
At the beginning, the
rental
In February 1985, two
businessmen of Quebec, Marc Pilon and Robert
Beauchamp found AMI Informatique inc., a
computer sales and repair business. During the
same year, a customer asks if he could not rent
a computer while his is in repair. Robert
decides to buy a computer and rent it. So, the
first customer is served, and begins Robert's
experience of computer equipment
rental.
One thing leading to
another, the second and the third computers are
bought to answer the demand. Robert lets aside
the sale and the repair to take charge only of
rental. The rental service so
grows with the rest of the company. Michel
Morel, a computer technician, is hired in 1997
to work with Robert.
The
acquisitions
In 1997, the
Québectel Group buys AMI Informatique and
changes this one's name for Québectel AMI.
Two years later, the business is integrated
with three other companies the create Versalys,
a Québectel subsidiary. In 2000, it's
Québectel's turn to get bought by TELUS.
This coming brings Versalys to raise the colors
of TELUS colors and change it's name again for
TELUS Solutions d'Affaires. Robert, Michel and
the computer rental service are integrated to
the big TELUS family.
The beginnings of MIRO
Computer Rental Inc.
In 2002, TELUS Solutions
d’Affaires reorganizes itself and decides
to end computer equipment rental. The activity
works well but does not integrate in the core
business that the company wants to pursue.
Robert and Michel, then, wish to continue
working in the domain. Having a good knowledge
of the computer rental market in Quebec, they
decide to buy the equipments and pursue the
activities.
So since January
first, 2003, MIRO Computer Rental is
steered by people who have a continuous
experience in the domain: Robert - 20 years,
Michel - 8 years. The current customers were
able to take advantage of uninterrupted service
during the transition.
